Please HELP! How can I ask the company to fulfill the allowances they promised in my job offer contract?
March 23rd, 2008 | by admin |sofia asked:
The company who hired me, stated in the job offer that they will give me quarterly clothing and rice allowance, management bonus. But am now in my fourth month they told me, per company policy, it should be given only to those people who are regular employees. They told me if the job offer contradicts the company policy, then they ( HR) will follow the company policy.
I felt so betrayed because, I left my previous company due to the benefits and allowances stated in the job offer. Please help

When you took the job and they stated that these bonuses and allowances would start right away, then you have a right to confront them on it. However, if they generally stated that once a regular employee, you will receive a clothing allowance etc, then you need to find out what it takes to become that regular employee. Most of the time, it is a probation period of 6 months or 90 days for some. Once you pass that time, it may kick in.
I’d speak to HR and see what the policy says. If what the bosses promised you is different than what it states, confront the boss and state this is the reason why you chose this company and without that allowance that you really should not of taken the job. If you are a good employee, they’ll do what it takes to keep you.
Meanwhile……….I’d scan the area to see if you have another job opportunity incase they get nasty towards you.

Get out your copy of the contract and bring it to a lawyer. Most employment lawyers will consult for free, If he thinks you have been wronged then have him call HR. This is totally acceptable and will not shed a negative light on you. A contract is a legally binding document that they and you signed they need to uphold their end of the deal.

I am in the same situation. the only thing you can do is contact the Labor Board and hire an attorney. sorry but unless you make an issue of it hr is going to consider the issue solved. i hope you have a copy of those terms. luckily my issue was printed in the local paper so this company can’t dispute it. good luck

speak to human resolurces, they might have a hiring period before ur considered a regular employee usually 3-6 months. so u might not qualify for this incentve. meet with hr and discuss when this will be eligible to you.

I feel very sorry for you. It certainly sounds like you were lied to and taken advantage of.
Sadly, many companies will lie like this. It is always important to get the details in writing. If you don’t have it in writing, a lawyer will not be able to help you. You’ll be wasting your money if you hire a lawyer but don’t have any of the promises in writing.
If you do have all those promises in writing, then you certainly should consult with a good lawyer.
I wish you well. Please let us know how it turns out.

If you have it in writing, seek legal rep. If they signed a contract, they are legally bound, regardless of the normal policies.
