How would one go about moving to Las Vegas and finding a job(s), preferably dancing?

My friend and I began talking about this recently… We do NOT want to become strippers or work in ******* bars, but go-go dancing would be so much fun. And what better city to live in while we are young and single?! Only, we need a base-point for deciding how to go about moving and/or where to find jobs… Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I live in Vegas, I have some students that are dancers at some of the strip hotels….not strippers–dancers. One friend of mine dances at the Rum Jungle at Mandalay Bay. As far as getting a job dancing, you just have to go to the hotel clubs and apply. They will have you come in and audition (dance) for them. They look for slender girls that will look good in small costumes. They may want to see how well you dance in a small area (like for go-go dancers that are up on a box or suspended in a cage). Depending on the club, they may have choreographed routines that their dancers perform and they may ask you to learn a short combination and repeat it for them.
Most hotels in Vegas have some sort of club that they have go-go type dancers for. Many times their dancers are also cocktail waitresses. So if you start at one end of the strip and hit the human resources at each one and fill out an application, you are sure to come up with a few that are hiring.
Here is a link to the local newspaper’s classifieds on-line. I typed in “dancer” in the search and came up with 10 matches. BUT, you have to screen the classifieds for stripper/non-stripper ads, you can usually tell the difference.
It is a good place to begin your search for a job here. You can also use the site to find apartments for rent if you decide to come out.
