I’m looking for a job in the industrial part of Houston. I think many of those jobs pay over $30,000 per year and don’t require any college, but they train you on the job. Can someone please tell me where I can find a job like this? and how can I do it? Is it easy to get an industrial-type job?

If you are looking for a chemical plant operator job, you can apply at any oil company or chemical company’s website. You can try googling “chemical companies houston tx” and it will turn up a bunch of companies. Also you could try all of the oil companies you can think of. They pay very well. In fact, the operators made more than I did, as an engineer. Many of the people who work at this job do not have a college degree, but a lot of them have military experience. Since it is well-paying, there are often a lot of applicants. Do you have any job experience in a hands-on place or any experience managing people? That could help.
There are also many contractor firms such as KBR, Veolia, Austin that provide maintenance services to plants.
