How much money do you want? If you don’t know, then perhaps you should do some research on how much to expect

    I put ‘negotiable.’

They are asking you how much you are wanting to make an hour, or if salaried position, how much you are wanting to make a year.

It’s one of those kinds of questions known as a two-edged sword. What they are asking is “what pay do you want”? If you compensation is more than they are willing to pay, you will receive a very nice rejection letter. If it’s too low, they may hire you because they’ll get more for their money, or they will figure that you aren’t experienced enough.

Generally, what you have to do is find out what the general salary is for they type of work you are applying for in your area. You can usually find that kind of data at your Employment Dev elopement Department or sites like Yahoo!Hot Jobs or Monster.com.

What they are really asking is; What do you think you are worth to us.

    Negotiable is the best answer.

If pressed in an interview - be ready with a broad range - you can determine a range that is appropriate for your region by visiting salary.com

    Good Luck
