What are some effective strategies in finding a job?

Finding a job
HeavenlyBliss asked:

I mostly apply to jobs through the internet postings. Would it make a difference if I was to go to the companies that I wanted to work with face to face and apply, or is face to face and internet application pretty much the same?

Also how does one effectively find a job if they don’t have any experience?

Thank You
The job that I’m trying to look for in this case is something career related, not just something part-time.

go to a state fed or local run career office, they might be able to get you training and a job and pay for it. try going on welfare they will put you on then try to get you off welfare by maybe training you for a job. only in the good old USA.

This may seem minor but when I screened applicants for my boss I looked for one thing first.

People looking for “Positions” went to the end of the line. People looking for a “Job” got seen before those looking for positions. But, those looking for “Work” went to the head of the line.

You must understand those three words weren’t everything but I always saw it as a mind set. Another thing is to send your application/resume`/cover letter to someone. If you can direct it to someone in the second or third level of management in the Human Resources section it will definitely get opened. It will take you doing some homework but if you can swing it, it is well worth the effort.

While this is only one opinion, it is the opinion of one person who has been there.

Good luck and remember you may have to kiss a lot of frogs before you find a prince. Well finding work can be the same way.
